About
Swirling waves of post-punk psychedelia from Brooklyn.

Biography
Hanford Reach is a Brooklyn based neo-psych-gaze band formed by Chris Sherman and Leah Cinnamon in late 2016 following the dissolution of Sky Picnic. Hanford Reach “create solid, melody filled standards stuffed to the brim with ear catching chord structures and clever instrumentation'” (Primal Music) and have been described as “swirling waves of post-punk psychedelia that reflect the anxious nature of our modern times” (Vinyl District) and “prime Tame Impala before their slick-pop injections” (Speak Into My Good Eye). They have been featured on a bunch of indie compilations and have had premieres on Impose Magazine, Primal Music Blog, the Vinyl District, preeminent local blog Speak Into My Good Eye and acclaimed psych music site the Active Listener.
Hanford Reach has just released their second EP "Nathalie", via the band's Medium Lavender Records. This is a major sonic step forward as they continue to evolve into new regions. Says Chris, "I really wanted to try and capture sounds from when I was growing up, things that got me into music and made me want to play in the first place. Something like eighties pop, funneled through a rhythm section that maybe put a record out on SST and toured with Sonic Youth, but if they had access to Kevin Parker’s pedalboard while binging on Stranger Things.”
Hanford Reach’s live band lineup also consists of Andy Plovnick (drums) and Dan Kendall (synths).
